Created by guitarist Eric Sempe and bassist Marc Peillon, "Synopsis" become a reference in the world of Jazz Fusion during the 1990s. Four CDs have punctuated this long career: most recently in 1998, "Home", featuring the legendary U.S. saxophonist David Sanborn.

Après une carrière aux multiple facettes qui l’a fait naviguer du jazz au Rock en passant par la musique indienne et d’autres musiques traditionnelles du monde, Eric, avec la contribution de ses compagnons de route, vous fait partager ce parcours musical au sein de Synopsis, sa formation fétiche, dont il fut l’initiateur en 1988.
Premier Prix de Conservatoire de Nice, arrangeur SACEM, diplômé d’état de professeur de Jazz, il a joué avec John McLaughlin, David Sanborn, Didier Lockwood, Caroline Casadesus, Chris DeBurgh, Liz Mc Comb, Louis Winsberg...

After a multifaceted career that took him from jazz to rock by way of Indian music and other traditional world music, Eric, along with his fellow travelers, brings you along on this musical journey to the heart of Synopsis, the favorite of his many musical groups and one he formed himself in 1988.
A professional SACEM arranger, he also is the recipient of a First Prize award from France’s Nice Conservatory and national Jazz Professor certification. Felix, hailing from Cameroun, is one of the most eminent artists in the world of percussion, Felix has been blessed with an extraordinary sense of beat, which emanates from his African roots in Cameroon. Compagnon de route de John McLaughlin, Dominique a travaillé avec lui à plusieurs reprises. En 1991, où il rejoint le "John McLaughlin Trio", pour une tournée mondiale et le fameux disque "Que Alegria", et plus récemment (2008) dans "The 4th Dimension", avec Gary Husband et Mark Mondésir.
Parmi ses très nombreux enregistrements, on peut citer l'album "Front Page" avec B.Lagrène et Denis Chambers (2001) Victoire de la Musique – Meilleur CD Jazz de l'année.
He’s one of the world’s most respected bassists, both in the business and out. Since the early 80s, alongside Michel Perez, he’s played with such brilliant musicians as Didier Lockwood, Gil Evans, Gordon Beck, Jean-Pierre Como, André Ceccarelli, Bireli Lagrène, Denis Chambers, Zakir Hussain, U.Srinivas, and Trilok Gurtu. Dominique has also been traveling companion and creative collaborator with John McLaughlin. In 1991, he joined the John McLaughlin Trio for a world tour and the celebrated disc, Que Alegria; more recently (2008), he joined John in The 4th Dimension with Gary Husband and Mark Mondésir. His myriad recordings include the album Front Page with Bireli Lagrène and Denis Chambers (2001), which won the French Victoires de la Musique Jazz
Album of the Year, the country’s equivalent of a Grammy.
NEIL GERSTENBERG : Saxophones - Flutes - EWI
D'origine écossaise, Neil est installé en France.
A New York, il rencontre en 1997 John Purcell ("World Sax Quartet", "Special Edition" de Jack DeJohnette) - saxophoniste "Guru" de David Murray, Michael Brecker et David Sanborn, qui lui ouvre de nouvelles perspectives musicales.
Parmi de multiples expériences et rencontres musicales, il a été membre du quintet du bassiste Jean Marc Jafet, auprès duquel il a participe à l'enregistrement de l'album "Douceur Lunaire".
Scotsman Neil lives in France, but met John Purcell in New York in 1997 (World Sax Quartet, Jack DeJohnette’s Special Edition), the sax “guru” of David Murray, Michael Brecker, and David Sanborn. Purcell opened new musical horizons for the young saxophonist, whose many musical encounters and experiences since then include membership in the quintet of bassist Jean-Marc Jafet, with whom he recorded the album Douceur Lunaire.
CLAUDE TEDESCO : Piano, Keyboards, Violin
Pianiste, mais aussi violoniste et chanteur, Claude est 1er Prix du Conservatoire National de Nice.
Musicien inventif aux multiples facettes, il excelle autant dans la salsa, que dans le jazz, le tango...
On le voit aux côtés de David Sanborn, Jean-Marc Jafet, Jean-Paul Cecarrelli, Chris de Burgh...
He’s a pianist,as well as a violinist and singer. He holds a First Prize award from France’s Nice Conservatory. An inventive and multifaceted musician, he masters salsa as well as he does jazz and tango. Claude can be seen (and heard) sharing performances with David Sanborn, Jean-Marc Jafet, Jean-Paul Cecarrelli, Chris DeBurgh, and other luminaries.
GERARD KURDJIAN : Tablas, Gatam, Percussions - Voice
Gérard s’est spécialisé dans l’étude des percussions d’Orient et tout particulièrement des tablas et du gatam.
Avec lui, les percussions deviennent un monde sonore où peaux, sonnailles, grelots, tambours, appeaux, voix sont mis au service d'un impressionnisme musical qui colore de ses teintes multiples le repertoire du groupe.
Auteur de spectacles musicaux (Toulik et le Tambour Magique), de créations, "Caravanes de Lunes", rencontre des musiques et des mystiques des mondes chrétiens, musulmans et hindous, il est aussi le concepteur/récitant de "L'Oiseau de Feu" : Musique Persane et Poèmes Mystiques d'Orient et d'Occident, avec le joueur de Santour Hassan Tabar et le percussionniste Bijane Chemirani.
Gérard has specialized in the study of oriental percussion, with particular emphasis on tablas and the Indian gatam. His world is one in which percussion weaves a sonic universe with skins, bells of all sizes, drums, bird calls, and voice, all part of a musical impressionism adding bewitching color and mood to the Synopsis repertoire. He is the creator behind musical productions such as Toulik and the Magic Drum and Caravanes de Lunes (Moon Caravans), where the music and mystics of the Christian, Muslim, and Hindu worlds meet. Gerard is also the creative force and narrator of L’Oiseau de Feu: Musique Persane et Poèmes Soufis (The Fire Bird: Persian Music and Sufi Poems) with santur player Hassan Tabar and percussionist Bijan Chemirani.
